Mi Casa coming to Namibia
• Taking centre stage this December
Since 2010, Mi Casa has dominated charts in Africa with a total of 10 number-one singles.
South African music trio Mi Casa is poised to command centre stage at the upcoming 'A Music Festival', a sonic spectacular scheduled for Saturday, 2 December, at the Windhoek High School (WHS) sport field.
Made up of singer and songwriter J’Something, producer and multi-instrumentalist Dr Duda and trumpeter Mo-T, the group said their sound is a mixture of the many genres they grew up listening to.
The band feels fresher than ever, with their new album set to release in 2024 as they embark on their most ambitious journey to date with their label, Universal Records - having signed a global deal.
Over the years, the band has accumulated many impressive accolades, including multiple South African Music Awards and nominations at the MTV European Music Awards and the MTV African Music Awards.
Their new album was produced in Germany and Portugal, they said, adding that they worked with the likes of Yanek - multi-platinum record producer from Berlin - as well as Nelson Freitas, Anselmo Ralph and Djodjie, to mention a few.
So much sweeter
Asked about their highlights thus far, Dr Duda said: “The awards and album sales are all phenomenal achievements, but the connections and memories we’ve made with our fans are so much sweeter".
Hosted by Vocalcast Production, 'A Music Festival' is one of the most eagerly anticipated events on the Windhoek social calendar. The event will also feature performances by Paige, Jared G and DJ Melza.
Gates open at 11:00 and the show starts at 12:00. Tickets are available in advance for N$500 until Thursday, 30 November, and for N$550 thereafter.
