Man dies after being shot with traditional arrow

A 44-year-old man from Omashaka location in Ondangwa died after being shot with a traditional arrow at a camping site where he was working a construction job. The incident occurred around 19:00 on Tuesday night while the victim was talking on the phone and his colleagues were preparing dinner. Police Chief Inspector Thomas Aiyambo from the Oshana community policing subdivision said the victim was shot in the stomach and called out to his colleagues for help.
Aiyambo said the man was rushed to Onandjokwe Hospital with the arrow still lodged in his body. The victim, who cannot be named pending notification of his next of kin, succumbed to his injuries in the early hours of Wednesday while in surgery, around 01:30.
No suspect has been identified yet.
