Kavango West school calls for donations to aid learners
News in short
Mupini Combined School in the Kavango West Region has issued a plea to the community for donations to support its grade 11 learners during a vital programme designed to enhance academic performance.
Running from 1 September to 12 November, the initiative aims to improve examination results through extended coaching classes.
With many learners walking over five kilometres to attend school, the school's management has organised the programme that will see learners camping at the school, with classes set to take place from 07:00 to 22:00. However, a lack of funds has left the school unable to provide meals for the 87 learners participating.
“The camping classes will not only offer focused study time, but also ensure that learners receive meals while they study, as some do not have access to electricity at home. We believe this support will enhance their learning process and lead to better results," the school said.
It requested local businesses and community members to donate food or any other resources to support this initiative.
