Boy’s body discovered in dunes

News in short
STAFF REPORTER
The body of five-year-old Wilfred ‘Dantani’ Eiseb was discovered half buried in the dunes on the outskirts of Narraville, Walvis Bay, last Friday by a passer-by who notified the police. The boy’s next of kin have been notified.

According to the unit commander for community affairs in the Erongo Region, inspector Ileni Shapumba, preliminary investigations have revealed that the deceased was allegedly taken from a tuck shop in Johanna Benson Street, Tutaleni, by his stepfather.

“After a while, the deceased's mother received a message from an unknown number informing her to pick up her child’s lifeless body near the ‘Welcome to Walvis Bay’ road sign.

“The suspect (29), who is the stepfather of the deceased, was arrested and detained. He is allegedly married to the deceased's mother but they are not living together. A post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of death. The investigation is ongoing."
