Ohangwena police hunt for teacher’s killers

Tuyeimo Haidula
Police in the Ohangwena Region have asked for public assistance to trace an unknown suspect or suspects who shot and killed Natanael Tangeni Nghihalwa (39) last Saturday night.

A case of murder has been opened and is being investigated.

Ohangwena police regional commander, Commissioner Ottilie Kashuupulwa, said Nghihalwa was a well-known businessman and a teacher at Oshali West Combined School.

The incident took place at around 22:00 at Oshikwiyu village, Omungwelume.

Nghihalwa had returned home from his bar, which is in the same area, she said.

“It is suspected that while he was in his sleeping room, the suspect(s) entered his room and shot him. He was found dead outside the room with a gunshot wound.”

She said footprints were found at the scene of the crime, adding that the police are following up at this stage.

The deceased taught physical science and life science to grades eight to nine. His learners wrote exams on those subjects yesterday.
