148th IPU underway

A Namibian parliamentary delegation is attending the 148th Inter–Parliamentary Union (IPU) assembly and related meetings in Geneva, Switzerland.
Speaker of the National Assembly Peter Katjavivi is leading the delegation, with the trip having kicked off on 23 March and drawing to a close on 27 March.
"The committee on Middle East questions will consider what parliamentary action to take regarding the protracted conflict in Gaza that has resulted in a humanitarian crisis,” a statement read.
Parliamentarians accompanying Katjavivi include Henny Seibeb, Charmaine Tjirare and Nono Katjingisiua.
The National Council is represented by its vice-chairperson Victoria Kauma, and fellow lawmakers Emma Muteka, Leonard Shikulo and Sebastian !Gobs.
The IPU assembly brings together lawmakers from around the world to identify international challenges and make recommendations for action. It comprises 179 national parliaments and 14 regional parliamentary bodies.
