Namib Mills gets interdict against Amushelelo

The Windhoek High Court yesterday granted an interim interdict to Namib Mills against Namibia Economic Freedom Fighters (NEFF) activist Michael Amushelelo, prohibiting him from coming within 70 metres of any of its premises.
This after Amushelelo made several threats on his Facebook profile last month against the company based on disciplinary procedures brought against 13 of its employees, eight of whom were sent home.
"I want to send a warning to Namib Mills that should they fire these employees, they should be prepared for serious consequences. They must be prepared for total disruption of all their business activities,” he wrote in March.
Judge Hannelie Prinsloo issued an order - valid until 3 May – which bars Amushelelo and the concerned workers from blocking the entrances to Namib Mills' premises, and from threatening to stop the company's operations.
The court further ordered the Namibian Police to take any necessary measures to ensure that the court order is carried out.
