Justice ministry focused on excellent services
Justice minister Yvonne Dausab has emphasised the importance of providing top-notch public services as a ministry.
“Our work, attitude, accessibility and client service culture must be prioritised. Our interaction with the public must be sincere and not opportunistic.”
Dausab was speaking during the ministry's strategic planning workshop in Swakopmund last week, where she reiterated the ministry's vision to provide fair and transparent legal services to all Namibians and emphasised the ministry's commitment to excellent service.
The event took place on 21 and 22 May and was attended by senior officials to reflect on its achievements and discuss plans for the ministry's future.
The ministry's strategic plan for 2025-2030 was also outlined at the event, based on Namibia's Vision 2030 and taking into account the upcoming National Development Plan (NDP6).
Dausab stated that it is important for the ministry's efforts to align with the national vision for a "prosperous and industrialised Namibia."
People-centric ministry
Key strategic issues were also identified with an eye on improvements for the 2025–2030 period.
These issues include prioritising people-centred client service, improving client education, stakeholder engagement, access to justice for marginalised populations, implementing measures to further promote institutional efficiency, reviewing and updating laws to align with international practices and addressing legal challenges such as artificial intelligence.
Dausab said the ministry remains steadfast in its mission to uphold justice, promote the rule of law, and ensure fair access to legal services for all citizens.
