JUST IN: Suspected paedophile's trial postponed again
The trial of Johann Maree, who faces 75 charges related to the sexual abuse of minor boys in Windhoek and the distribution of pornographic images on the dark web, was set to begin in August already.
However, proceedings were again delayed, with Maree's legal representative withdrawing this morning in the Windhoek High Court.
The reason for her withdrawal was conflicting instructions she received from Maree. This was Maree's third legal aid lawyer.
Judge Philanda Christiaan adjourned the case until 28 November.
"On that day we will schedule a date for the hearing and we will continue - with or without a legal representative," Christiaan told Maree.
