JUST IN: Alleged paedophile's trial to start in September
The trial of Johann Maree - who stands accused of sexually abusing a number of young boys in Windhoek - will begin on 18 September.
Maree appeared in the Windhoek High Court this morning, during which his new legal aid representative, Meriam Kandoni, went on record. Kandoni indicated that she will be ready to start with the trial, which will run from 18 to 22 September.
Further hearing dates were also scheduled this morning. The trial will continue from 24 to 27 October and again from 6 to 10 November.
