Housebreaking suspect granted N$300 bail

A 42-year-old man was granted N$300 bail earlier this month after being arrested for housebreaking.
Melvin Gariseb was arrested on 1 August after being linked to a robbery in Windhoek North. Windhoek City Police patrol officers spotted Gariseb carrying a flat-screen TV wrapped in a pink blanket and, when he was unable to explain where he got it, arrested him.
The homeowner later confirmed the theft. Gariseb was charged with housebreaking with intent to steal and theft. He appeared in the Windhoek Magistrate's Court on 2 August, and was granted bail of N$300. His next appearance is set for October.
