Court orders Air Namibia liquidators to pay more to former airline staff
A group of former Air Namibia employees have succeeded in their application to the Windhoek High Court against the liquidators to recalculate the total amount owed to them. This recalculation is to include, among other things, employees' contributions to medical, pension, social security funds (SSC) and allowances.
Judge Collins Parker ordered that the liquidators, David Bruni, Ian McLaren, and Simon Steyn, must pay the employees the difference between the amount already disbursed to them in December 2022 and the recalculated amount.
Approximately 80 former Air Namibia employees are listed as applicants in the case, and Renier Bougard (pictured) has served as the group's spokesperson for years.
