Alleged paedophile in court
News in short
A middle-aged German missionary, who was allegedly identified as a paedophile by 11 underage girls in the Kunene Region, appeared in the Ondangwa Magistrate's Court yesterday.
Ramon Flick (51) founded an orphanage in the region called Papa Ramon's Hope Kids. The orphanage apparently serves as a safe haven for children and also focuses on religion.
However, community members reported Flick to the local authorities and, after an investigation was launched, he was arrested in December 2021 for alleged sexual behaviour with minors. Although he was granted bail, Flick was arrested again in October 2022 after he allegedly sexually abused eight other girls. He has been in custody ever since.
