Green light for airports
The Namibia Airports Company (NAC) has successfully completed the aerodrome certification for Hosea Kutako International Airport as well as the Walvis Bay International Airport. The certificates were issued to the NAC last week by the Namibian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Namibian Civil Aviation Regulations (Namcars).

The certification process includes public consultation, evaluation of manuals, verification of facilities and equipment on-site, issuance of findings, as well as the submission and implementation of corrective action plans. The certificates for the two international airports are valid until 5 December 2025.
"We are grateful to receive the certificates and to strengthen efforts, in collaboration with stakeholders, to enhance the customer experience regarding safety and security at our airports," said NAC's chief executive officer, Bisey /Uirab.
Eros and Andimba Toivo Ya Toivo airports also fall under the certification process, with their temporary licences expiring in mid-2024. The certification of airports provides operators of both the airport and the aircraft with documentation ensuring, among other things, that the facilities are safe to use and comply with relevant standards, recommended practices, and regulations.
