Six hospitalised over suspected food poisoning

A family of six was hospitalised Monday following a suspected case of food poisoning after consuming cassava, locally known as Mudika, at Muveve village in the Kavango West.
Chief Inspector of the Kavango West police, Raimbert Muronga, confirmed the incident, which happened around 18:45.
According to Muronga, the victims, ranging in age from 4 to 79 years old, were treated for symptoms including severe stomach cramps, nausea, and vomiting.
"Four family members received overnight care at Bunya Health Centre and were discharged the following day in stable condition. However, two individuals were transferred to Rundu Hospital for further treatment.Their condition remains stable, according to medical personnel," Muronga said.
