New Onandjokwe maternity ward yet to be completed

The construction of a new 90-bed maternity ward at Onandjokwe Intermediate Hospital has yet to be completed.
The project was among several mentioned by Oshikoto governor Penda Ya Ndakolo during his State of the Region (SORA) last Friday, when he said N$51 million has been budgeted for the facility.
A year ago, Namibian Sun reported that the project was nearing completion. At the time, the hospital’s acting medical superintendent Dr Siraji Saad Rwehumbiza said more than 7 500 babies are born there every year.
