Cancer Association puts focus on prostate cancer

The Cancer Association of Namibia's latest statistics show that prostate cancer is now the most common cancer among Namibians. The association will focus on creating awareness about prostate cancer this month and encouraging all men over the age of 45 to get tested. This involves a simple blood test called a PSA test, and results are available within 15 minutes. It can be done nationwide at Pathcare as well as for free at the Cancer Association in Windhoek. People can assist by supporting initiatives such as ordering a 2024 diary at the Cancer Association's offices in Swakopmund, after which they will receive a blue ribbon to wear in support of men with prostate cancer. People can also order a blue cupcake by Wednesday, 22 November, which will help the cancer association raise more funds to enable them to assist more men for free.
