#JustIn Metcalfe Beukes say no to RedForce saga
Metcalfe Beukes Attorneys is no longer the legal counsel for the Walvis Bay Municipality in the RedForce Debt Management CC saga.
Richard Metcalfe was appointed as the legal counsel in the investigation of the appointment of RedForce Debt Management CC.
In a memorandum seen by this publication, Metcalfe stated, “Our firm cannot continue to represent a client of your ilk who refuses to comply with the provisions of the Local Authorities Act, the Public Procurement Act 15 of 2015, its own Credit Control Policy, and Water Regulations. We hereby terminate all services to the Municipal Council of Walvis Bay. We will file our Notice of Withdrawal as Legal Practitioners of Record in BOTH High Court cases on 17 July 2024.”
Currently, the Municipal Council of Walvis Bay is due in the High Court on 26 July and 30 July.
“However, your resolutions have effectively settled such matters to the detriment of your electorate in favor of RedForce Debt Management Close Corporation. It is obvious that you have no interest in the finalisation of the report into the appointment of RedForce Debt Management Close Corporation and/or its operations and/or the residents and ratepayers of Walvis Bay. We accordingly cease and desist with such investigation,” the memorandum read.
