Grootfontein top job advertised
News in short
After being without a substantive CEO for about nine months, the Grootfontein municipality has advertised the position. The due date for applications is 28 June.
Former CEO Kisco Sinvula’s contract was officially terminated in August 2023, but strife between the two parties began more than a year before that in March 2022. Sinvula was charged with 30 counts of misconduct and suspended. While the High Court later ruled that he must be reinstated, the municipality opted to instead pay out his contract - a whopping almost N$3 million - and terminate his services for good.
At the time, 50 of the municipal council’s 70 employees voted in favour of Sinvula’s removal from office.
