NamPower apologises for power outage
News in short
NamPower yesterday apologised for a power outage at Midgard Lodge, Ovitoto village and surrounding areas that started on Sunday.
"The prevailing situation is due to a broken lightning arrester pole at the Hochfeld substation that caused damage to the 66-kilovolt
red phase breaker leg. NamPower technical personnel are currently attending to the problem," the power utility said.
“The public is cautioned to treat all power lines and electrical points as ‘live’ during power outages as no prior notification is given when the power supply is restored,” it added.
It further apologised to residents of these areas and the public in general for any inconvenience caused.
The company did not say when power would be restored.
