#JustIn: ECB approves 8.97% increase in electricity tariffs
The Electricity Control Board (ECB) has approved an 8.97% increase in electricity tariffs for the current year.
This means the total bulk tariff increases from the current N$1.82 to N$1.98 per kilowatt hour (kWh).
The country’s bulk power supplier, Nampower, initially applied for a 16.87% increase.
The announcement was made moments ago by ECB chief executive officer Robert Kahimise.
