Home affairs ministry sets up shop at Olufuko festival
News in short
The home affairs, immigration, safety and security ministry has urged Namibians to visit its stand at the Olufuko Cultural Festival in Outapi. Attendees will be able to acquire national documents at the festival, which kicked off on 21 June and will draw to a close on Tuesday, 2 July.
“Take advantage of this opportunity to obtain your essential national documents. We are here between 09:00 and 21:00. Don't miss out,” the ministry wrote on Facebook.
In April, home affairs minister Albert Kawana revealed that a total of 141 048 individuals have been identified and registered as stateless and undocumented in Namibia. At the time, he said Namibia had joined other United Nations member states on the #IBelongTo campaign, which aims to end statelessness by the end of this year.
