Woman reportedly stabs, kills teen sister
Suspect arrested
A seventeen-year-old girl was reportedly stabbed to death by her sister.
A 17-year-old girl from Karibib was found dead on Friday morning after her older sister reportedly stabbed her to death.
The deceased and the suspect were apparently both at home the night before and at around midnight, they went to collect a laptop from the suspect's brother in an outside room. According to the brother, he noticed no signs of conflict between the two.
However, the next day, the girl's school called her mother at around 06:30 to find out where she was because she had not turned up for exam preparation. Her mother then went to her house and found that the door was locked. She tried to call the deceased, but got no answer, and then called the police.
The police opened a window and took a video of the inside of the house. They then saw a body lying in the corridor and decided to break down the door. Members of the police found the deceased on her back with a kitchen knife in her chest.
According to a police report, the deceased was found in a corridor leading to one of the bedrooms. The nearest bedroom was apparently found in a state of disarray, indicating that physical violence may have taken place.
Meanwhile, a container of chemicals was found in the bedroom and a multi-functional knife was found next to the body.
The suspect was apprehended after a member of the public provided information that led to her arrest. The motive for the murder is unclear. Police investigations continue.
