Woman arrested for assaulting son

A 27-year-old woman was arrested last Friday after she allegedly assaulted her seven-year-old son with a stick at Kasikili village in the Kavango West Region.
Namibian Police chief inspector in the region Raimbert Muronga confirmed the incident, adding that the woman allegedly tied the boy’s hands and legs and hit him several times with a stick.
She reportedly hit him on his torso, wrists and ankles. He sustained injuries and bruises, leaving his left arm and left leg swollen.
The victim has been admitted to Rundu State Hospital, Muronga said.
