Teen arrested for damaging minister’s car
News in short
An 18-year-old man was arrested on Sunday and charged for malicious damage to property after he allegedly damaged a government vehicle assigned to labour minister Utoni Nujoma. The incident happened in the Windhoek CBD, in front of a popular pharmacy which Nujoma was allegedly visiting. A security guard working at the pharmacy said the man hit the minister’s car twice with a stone, breaking both the front and back windscreens, and ripped off the front grille. A video which later emerged showed the shirtless man swearing at security guards and accusing the Swapo government of corruption and neglect. He is expected to appear in court today.
