Stolen cattle worth over N$400 000 recovered

News in short
STAFF REPORTER
Fourteen heads of cattle, worth N$426 000, were stolen between last Friday and Saturday after thieves loaded the animals on a truck at Farm Omantumba in the Hochfeld area of the Otjozondjupa Region. “Through information, the suspects were pursued until Farm Boomlager near Omitara in the Omaheke Region, where one of the suspects - a 45-year-old Namibian man - was arrested. The others managed to flee,” a police report said. The cattle were recovered.

The truck as well as a sedan used during the incident have been impounded. The arrested suspect was expected to appear before the Otjiwarongo Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
