Police appeal for help to locate cable thieves

Police in the Omusati Region have appealed to the public for assistance in locating the culprits responsible for the theft of electricity cables at the Etunda irrigation scheme.
The stolen cables are estimated to be worth over N$330 000.
Omusati police spokesperson Moses Simaho stated that the incident took place between May and June of this year.
He said one of the stolen cables was recovered in the water canal.
Simaho said the thieves stole a 500-metre-long cable valued at N$198 000, as well as four other cables with a combined length of 350 metres, valued at N$135 000.
He urged the public to assist the police with information that can lead to the arrest of the suspects and, or, the recovery of the stolen items.
