Outjo man stabbed over wine
A man was arrested for allegedly stabbing another man in Outjo on Saturday. The incident, which took place between 01:00 and 02:00, saw the victim stabbed in the chest, hand and right thigh.
According to reports, the altercation started because the victim refused to give back a five-litre box of Overmeer wine. Police investigations continue.
In the Ohangwena Region, a two-year-old toddler reportedly drowned in a bucket of water in the Etunda-lekuta village last Friday.
Also over the weekend, a victim suffered a great financial loss after an unknown suspect withdrew a cash amount of N$116 500 from their bank account without permission. No arrests have been made and police investigations continue.
Mob justice
It is alleged that a mob of community members beat a 38-year-old man with stones and sticks last Friday. The victim was beaten to his head and jaw, which caused him to sustain open wounds to his head, and broken teeth. No arrests have been made and police investigations continue.
In other news, a 56-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a 17-year-old boy on her way home in Okatope. The suspect, who was wearing a face mask, apparently grabbed the victim around her neck and pushed her to the ground.
It is alleged that the suspect undressed the victim and had sexual intercourse with her without her consent. In the process, the woman managed to scream and neighbours came to her rescue.
The suspect was arrested on Saturday and found in possession of the victim's handbag. Investigations continue.
