#NMHbreakers Italian nationals robbed and assaulted
Two Italian nationals were allegedly robbed and assaulted while walking to their place of accommodation in Swakopmund
The couple was approaching their hotel in Libertina Amadhila Street, when three men jumped out of a vehicle and ambushed them. They allegedly pushed the victim's wife (61) and took her wallet with cash. They then forced the husband (56) into their vehicle and drove off as the guard from the hotel ran towards them.
Community policing commander Inspector Ileni Shapumba confirmed the incident saying, “it was reported that a black Honda Fit with a fake registration number was seen dropping the victim [husband] in Mondesa. The husband sustained visible injuries to the forehead, left eye and left arm, but he is stable. Fortunately, the wife did not sustain any injuries."
The property stolen is valued to N$95 280 and includes credit cards, identity cards, a Nikon camera, a Canon camera, Samsung cellphone, blue watch, spectacles, a gold ring and N$800 in cash.
No stolen items have been recovered and investigations continue.
