Man rapes teen, buys her phone
A 33-year-old man is due to appear in court this week after he allegedly raped a 13-year-old girl on multiple occasions and bought her a smartphone.
Although the incidents reportedly happened in May this year, they were only recently reported to the police.
Oshana's crime investigation coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Frederick Ndjadila, said the alleged rapes took place at unknown dates and times at Oshinyadhila No 2 village.
“It is alleged that the victim’s mother saw her daughter with a smartphone and asked her where she got it. Upon questioning, the victim revealed that the smartphone was given to her by the suspect,” he said.
Ndjadila added that the victim told her mother that the suspect took her to his house, where he removed her clothes and raped her.
Police investigations continue.
