Man killed in knife attack in Swakop

A 21-year-old man died in the early morning hours of Saturday in Swakopmund after being attacked with a knife while on his way home from a pub with two friends.
According to a police report, the attack occurred at around 00:53 on Saturday morning on Hanganeni Street in the DRC suburb.
"The deceased was reportedly walking ahead of the others and was intercepted and attacked by an unknown male suspect described as short, dark in complexion and speaking Oshiwambo,” police stated.
“A struggle between the suspect and the victim lasted for a while before the suspect fled the scene. The victim allegedly shouted that he had been stabbed. He stumbled for less than 10 meters before collapsing. He was declared dead at the scene."
The deceased was identified as Ui-Basen Jesley Eltino Nowaseb, and his next of kin have been informed.
Police have issued an appeal to the public to assist in the arrest of the suspect, who left behind a navy blue Havaianas slip-on, a yellow denim hat and a golden sharp object resembling a knife at the scene of the murder.
