Man arrested for dealing in cannabis

A 32-year-old man was arrested in Oshakati on Monday for dealing in cannabis worth N$207 000.
Head of the Oshana Region community policing sub-division, Chief Inspector Thomas Aiyambo, said the four-kilogram bust was made at around 17:00. Following a police operation, four parcels of cannabis were found in the suspect’s bedroom. An additional N$3 430 cash was also found in the room.
The suspect was arrested and charged, and is due to appear in the Oshakati Magistrate’s Court this week.
In a separate incident, a 25-year-old man sustained serious injuries after he was allegedly hit by a car while crossing the Oshakati-Omungwelume main road at Okaku Kanangula village.
The victim sustained a left rib fracture, swollen face, open wound on his head and shoulder pains, and is currently admitted at Oshakati State Hospital in a stable condition.
