A man accused of raping his 104-year-old aunt on multiple occasions has been remanded in custody following his first court appearance in the Outapi Magistrate's Court this week.
The accused - who is 33 - lives in the same house as his aunt. He was denied bail, and his case has been postponed to 17 February 2025 for further police investigations.
Omusati police regional commander, Commissioner Ismael Basson, said the accused allegedly committed the crime on several occasions at unknown times and dates between 2023 and 24 September 2024 at Ohongo village in the Etayi constituency.
The accused allegedly entered the victim's bedroom on several occasions and raped her, he said.
