#JustIn: Murder suspect escapes custody
The police in the Kavango East region are appealing for public assistance in tracing the whereabouts of Kandere Faustinus Shinkanda (30), who escaped from custody on Wednesday at the Ndiyona police station.
According to the acting regional commander, deputy commissioner Eino Nambahu, the suspect, who was arrested for murder and attempted murder, escaped at around 12:00.
"The suspect is believed to have taken the western direction of Ndiyona to the surrounding villages of Mupapama, Mabushe, Ndongalinena and Mbwata village. Also possibly in the inland, to the farms surrounding Ndiyona, Sipandu, Cua, Muduva conservancy, Dosa, Ndonga linena, Koro, Kapupaidi and Baramasoni areas," Nambahu said.
He further warned the members of the community to be vigilant as the suspect is considered to be dangerous. Anyone with information about Shinkanda's whereabouts is urged to contact deputy commissioner Kanyetu on 081-293-0991 or 081-378-3818, chief inspector Kakoro at 081-258-2334 or the nearest police station.
