Driver flees scene of fatal pedestrian crash

A 39-year-old man died instantly after being hit by a car while crossing the road at Oshuushe village early Sunday morning, with the driver fleeing the scene of the accident.
The victim, Paulus Lumbu, died at the scene, and his next of kin has been informed.
Oshana police chief inspector Thomas Aiyambo said the incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday on the Ondangwa-Oshikango main road.
Aiyambo said the car was identified as a silver Polo with an unknown registration number.
A case of culpable homicide has been opened, and police are requesting assistance from the public that could lead to the arrest of the runaway driver.
