CHILDCARE TRAINING FOR OFFICERS

CHILDCARE TRAINING FOR OFFICERS: A two-day training for police officers on the National Policy and Child Care Protection Act was officially opened on Tuesday at the Namibian Police regional headquarters in Nkurenkuru.

The event was officiated by Commissioner Julia Sakuwa-Neo, the regional commander of the Kavango West Region, who highlighted the importance of equipping officers with the necessary tools to address pressing issues such as gender-based violence (GBV).

Thirty police officers from the region will attend the training, which aims to enhance their knowledge and skills in tackling GBV challenges, including the identification of GBV traits and understanding its impact.

The course is facilitated by representatives from the gender ministry and supported by deputy commissioners and other officials. The training concluded Wednesday.
