Be at home in nature

Tranquillity is the name of the game for those opting to stay at Brandberg White Lady Lodge.

Since its opening in 2002, Brandberg White Lady Lodge situated in Damaraland, has become a destination of choice for both local and international nature-oriented tourists. Here you will feel at home and can enjoy warm-hearted hospitality and friendship. The lodge is also renowned as the place where you find the famous White Lady painting. This rock is located on a panel that also depicts other artwork, deep within Namibia’s highest mountain, the Brandberg.

Here, nothing has changed since the early days, when cellphones and watches were not yet part of this world. This is also where you can have a face-to-face encounter with Namibia’s desert elephants roaming the Ugab River from June/July to November/December. Their visit to this area is seasonal and depends very much on the rainfall. The rest of the year (summer or when the country receives rain) they move further North - out of the rivers and into the farmlands. Thus, game drives also depend on the time of year and if the elephants are in the area.

The Ugab River Valley, with its old trees and green bushes, is home to a wide variety of game, birds, reptiles, and insects. The most popular activities amongst guests are the hiking sessions to the White Lady and the desert elephant, and sunset or scenic drives. After a game drive, guests can relax at one of two swimming pools, enjoy a drink from the well-stocked bar, or sit down at the dining area where cuisine with the “esprit” of the area is served.

Accommodation

Brandberg White Lady Lodge offers accommodation to suit everyone’s needs.

The eight chalets are spaced a few meters apart and situated under a big tree with a veranda facing the mountain. The chalets are equipped with two ¾ beds and an en suite bathroom. They run on solar power and a gas geyser for hot water. There are also two blocks with standard rooms. The first block houses seven rooms and the second eight rooms.

Each block starts and ends with a family unit. The rooms in between are all twin rooms. Each twin room has two ¾ beds with an en suite bathroom and a small veranda. The four family units can accommodate four people per room. A unit consists of two rooms - each with two ¾ beds and an en suite bathroom in the main room. There is no physical door between the rooms.

The tents have two ¾ beds in each with an open-air bathroom at the back. Each tent has its own braai area.

The tents are spread a few meters apart and are situated under beautiful Anna trees. There is no electricity at the campsite, but guests are welcome to charge electric devices at the lodge.
