Early Christmas vibes at COSDEF
Student exhibition & sale
COSDEF Arts and Craft Centre Swakopmund will host a Christmas Market and student exhibition & sale in December.
The Community Skills Development Foundation (COSDEF) Arts and Craft Centre Swakopmund, in collaboration with Memphis Barbeque & Blues will host a Christmas Market coupled with a student exhibition and sale on 4 December.
The market will accommodate a variety of market stalls, fantastic food from restaurant Memphis BBQ & Blues, live music and kiddies activities. The marketing coordinator at the Arts & Crafts centre, Jessica le Grangé, explained that the event is being hosted to create an opportunity for the public to visit the centre and see what it has to offer. "It will also serve as a platform on which our 2022 students showcase and sell the products they have made through the year. These include jewellery and leather products that will all be on sale at reasonable prices. We are also in the process of revamping our craft shop which will sell a new range of children’s clothing, toys and Christmas décor."
Interested exhibitors can contact the centre to book a stall which is available at N$50. "No mass produced items are allowed. It should be hand made, Namibian or second hand goodies. Exhibitors need to bring their own table, chair and/or gazebo. Set up will be from 8:30 the morning of the market,"
"The COSDEF Christmas Market is a perfect opportunity to do your pre-Christmas shopping as well as to enjoy a family fun day. Have lunch and enjoy good music while the kids play on the jumping castles," le Grangé said.
As for next year, COSDEF will host a market on Easter weekend and will most likely have more regular markets.
