Temperature pledges N$480 000 to community
As part of its contribution to the community, Temperature Restaurant and Lounge in Windhoek will donate monetary and in-kind contributions worth N$480 000 towards its annual community charity day.
According to the organisers, the charity day is dedicated to giving back to the Khomasdal community and will be held on Saturday morning at the Khomasdal Stadium. The event aims to support local schools, pensioners and orphanages by providing essential donations, while creating a day of fun-filled activities for families.
In a media statement issued last week, Temperature’s marketing and corporate relations director Rousa Shikoha said seven schools will receive a total of 100 containers of five-litre cleaning detergent and 50 boxes of printing paper to aid their education endeavours.
Another donation of 100 containers of five-litre cleaning detergent will be handed over to two orphanages to help maintain a clean and hygienic environment for the children in their care.
“The event will feature a raffle that will see 20 pensioners walk away with electricity to the value of N$1 000 each, to contribute to their daily needs and comfort,” Shikoha noted.
Sponsors
Several entities and individuals have pledged generous sponsorship to the event.
“TST Marketing has pledged hampers worth N$10 000, Katakombe Restaurant will provide 240 drinks, a group of DJs we have worked with in the past will sponsor boxes of paper to add to the school donations and November Charity will avail their time and manpower,” she said.
Shikoha expressed excitement for the event, emphasising Temperature’s commitment to making a positive impact and fostering unity. “We are excited to give back to the Khomasdal community that has supported us over the years.”
Attendees can look forward to a day packed with family-friendly activities that include a kiddies corner, giveaways of winter goodies and complimentary food and refreshments, Shikoha said.
