#JustIn: Huge fuel price relief next week

Jo-Maré Duddy
Following the decline in oil prices, the strengthening of the Namibia dollar against the greenback and a significant over-recovery in fuel prices locally, the price of petrol and diesel will drop by N$1 a litre this coming Wednesday.

Compared to August, there was an over-recovery of 8.49% on petrol this month, as well as 9.16% and 9.17%, respectively, on the two grades of diesel.

At Walvis Bay, the new price of petrol will be N$20.25/l, while diesel 50ppm will sell for N$19.72/l and diesel 10ppm will cost N$19.82/l.

However, the ministry of mines and energy warned in a statement that the net decrease in fuel prices will vary from location to location, “taking into account the cost of delivery of fuel implied by the introduction of the weighted fuel transportation rates”.
