#JustIn: Biometric capturing continues

#JustIn: In what some have described as defying the regulator, MTC this afternoon said it will continue capturing biometric data of its customers as part of its SIM registration process, despite the Communication Regulatory Authority of Namibia (CRAN) ordering telecommunications operators to cease this process because the country has no data protection legislative framework. “The position of MTC is that it will continue offering its biometric process as a condition of service to its customers,” MTC’s Chief Human Capital, Corporate and Marketing Officer Tim Ekandjo, said in a statement.
