Cymot Hilltop branch set to open October
The executive chairperson of the Cymot Group of Companies, Axel Theissen, proudly gave Network Media Hub (NMH) an exclusive tour of the new Cymot Hilltop branch, which is nearing completion next to the Grove Mall in Kleine Kuppe.
The term 'boutique shop' comes to mind when viewing the ultra-modern innovations in the departments serving the automotive, bicycle, outdoor, protective clothing and tool industries. The building is set to be a leader in both sustainability and chic design. Theissen emphasised that the entire building's design prioritises sustainability while providing a unique shopping experience for customers.
Sustainable power
NMH witnessed the moment Theissen flipped the switch, disconnecting the building from the municipal power grid and switching it to the internal battery network. The roof is covered with insulating panels to simplify climate control, and the building also draws power from 960 solar panels, storing the energy in 30 280-amp hour batteries. While the building is connected to the municipal power supply, it also has its own backup generator on-site, ready for use.
The ground floor serves as a parking garage and storage space, with over 3 000 square metres of stylish retail space above it. There are four entrances – one from each direction, including directly from the shopping center. The east entrance leads to the Fitment Centre for four-wheel-drive vehicles.
