Comalie’s position at Metropolitan under review
Business executive Jennifer Comalie’s position as chairperson of the investment board at Momentum Metropolitan Namibia is under review following her recent arrest.
In March, police allegedly found drugs worth N$57 000 in Comalie’s vehicle shortly before a board meeting at the National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (Namcor), where she is the board chairperson.
She was granted bail of N$7 000 on the State’s proposal and her case has been remanded to 31 July for further investigations. Namibian Sun understands that Comalie recently appeared before the Momentum Metropolitan group board of directors, which is chaired by Nangula Uaandja.
Uaandja did not wish to comment when approached yesterday. But other sources within the board revealed that Comalie was alerted to the company’s discomfort with the allegations against her, and asked that she provide feedback on the way forward.
“She is yet to revert back to us,” a board member said.
Comalie ignored a request for comment.
