Jo-Maré Duddy
The share price of Capricorn jumped by 85c per share today – the second surge since Friday.

Capricorn ended at N$15.00 per share on the Local Index of the Namibian Stock Exchange today, up 6.0% from yesterday.

On Friday, Capricorn’s share price jumped to N$14.15, a 2.1% or 29c per share increase compared to Thursday, and the highest since May 2020.

Romé Mostert, co-founder of Cirrus Capital, attributed this to investors who may have reinvested their NamBrew windfall.

Namibia Breweries Limited (NBL) on Friday paid out a special dividend totaling about N$5.4 billion, which was linked to Heineken N.V.’s acquisition of the majority stake in the company.

Following today’s increase in share price, Capricorn - with Bank Windhoek as its flagship subsidiary – is the second biggest company on the Local Index of the NSX in terms of total market capitalisation.

Its market capitalisation now stands at N$7.785 billion – up N$589 million or nearly 8.2% from Thursday.

FirstRand Namibia, with a total market capitalisation of N$9.914 billion, is the biggest company on the Local Index of the NSX. At N$6.609 billion, NamBrew is the third biggest.
