Zambian star Yo Maps' detainment sparks diplomatic plea

JUST IN: Following the detention of Zambian music star Elton 'Yo Maps' Mulenga by Namibian immigration authorities due to visa complications, a Zambian public service agency, Crowd Intelligence Services Zambia (CIS), has made an appeal to Namibia's home affairs minister Albert Kawana. CIS requested reconsideration, describing Yo Maps' visit as a cultural exchange beneficial to both nations. “We acknowledge and respect Namibia’s immigration policies and regulations. However, we kindly request your esteemed office to consider the context and the implications surrounding his visit. Yo Maps was in Namibia to engage in a cultural exchange through his performance, which brings considerable benefits to both Namibia and Zambia, fostering goodwill and enhancing bilateral relations,” the letter read.
