History will be made this weekend with many avant-garde shows on the local entertainment calendar. tjil put together a list of events you should not miss out on.

Restoration Concert

On Saturday, 25 November, the Dr Hage Geingob Stadium will play host to Namibia’s first Restoration Concert.

The initiative, dubbed a gathering of God’s people, promises to be explosive and is organised by Never Walk Alone. The event aims to bring Namibians together through music with a purpose.

A massive total of 26 artists will hit the stage - 25 from Namibia performing alongside Joyous Celebration from South Africa.

The local line-up includes the Omaruru Young Brothers Choir, Soli Deo Gloria, ACM Entertainment Group, Joharetha Nel and Etienne Boois, as well as Vuuyo, Khwezi, Ndenda, Collective Singers, Adoration HC, Maranatha, D-Naff, Manda Gabriel and more.

Hoevember

Curated by award-winning artist Lioness, Hoevember is an annual day event aimed at honouring the safety of women and the LGBTQI community in Namibia. The 2023 edition, set for tomorrow at Palm Tree Park, will be celebrated with a carnival theme. The event promises a world-class experience of live entertainment, fashion and food, with a line-up featuring DJ Alba, DJ Kiki, Khadijah Herunga, Ms Iverson and more. Katutura Fashion Week

The fifth edition of Katutura Fashion Week is set to take place at the Franco-Namibian Cultural Centre (FNCC) in Windhoek this Friday, 24 November, and Saturday, 25 November. The showcasing designers include Olympic silver medallist Christine Mboma's Mboma Street Wear, Nam Fashion Clothing, Crochets By Anna, Hooked by Irene, and College of the Arts (COTA) interns.

The event is set to start at 17:00. Tickets are available via Webtickets: N$50 for children under 12, N$100 for students, N$150 for general access, and a premium front-row experience for N$250.
