Weekend recap – Gazza makes history

MICHAEL KAYUNDE
It was an eventful weekend on the entertainment scene. From concerts to music video premieres, here’s how Namibians kept the cold at bay.

Gazza and Friends multi-concert

Gazza, in partnership with Windhoek Draught, once again made history last weekend when he hosted five concerts in one night.

The series of events was the first of its kind and sold out at every venue.

“I am thankful to my team and Windhoek Draught for this initiative. I am beyond grateful for everyone who came out to support,” the ‘All My Life’ hitmaker said during his third performance of the night at The Brewers Market. The shows were among the trending topics on Twitter over the weekend.

New releases

After weeks of teasing the drop of this highly anticipated collaboration, TKB and TopCheri premiered the ‘Kaduma’ music video at Sisindi Lodge on Saturday.

Another stand out release was by rapper D-Jay, who dropped a crispy fresh music video titled ‘Rock With Me’. Both are available on YouTube.

Tems, Wizkid win big at BETs

Nigerian music stars Wizkid and Tems won an award each at the BET 2022 Awards. Tems won best international act, while Wizkid took home the award for best collaboration for ‘Essence’, which features Tems and Justin Bieber.
