Vaughn Ahrens drops sophomore album
Namibian singer and guitarist Vaughn Ahrens has released his second studio album, 'Here Lies Vaughn Ahrens', on all major streaming platforms.
In an interview with Namibian Sun, the singer said this body of work takes a different sonic direction than all of his previous work. He said he was intentionally hands-on in the production of this album.
"I am the sole producer of ‘Here Lies Vaughn Ahrens,' however, I did work with Adam Brandon-Kirby as the main engineer and Wouter De Bruyn," said Ahrens, adding that as far as features are concerned, this album only features KP Illest.
In rolling out this project, Ahrens said he wants to connect with his fans on a personal level. "This is why we are running a competition for my fans to stand a chance to win a free live show at your house.
"All you have to do is tag me and your friends in a Facebook or Instagram story post with the hashtag #herelies – and your favourite song title to automatically make it into the draw. The competition is valid for those in Namibia and South Africa," said Ahrens.
He also announced that this is his first album that he has made available on YouTube.
"We unfortunately are not doing physical CDs – however, the exciting news is we are releasing it on vinyl as a collector’s item early next year."
This festive season he is booked to perform at the coast from 16-21 at Henties Bay, Walvis Bay and Swakopmund.
