#SunShorts: A trip through Portugal - in Windhoek
In celebration of Portugal's national day, the Portuguese Embassy in Namibia invites everyone to see the Portuguese electro-folk group Omiri on stage in the National Theater (NTN) in Windhoek on 14 June at 19:00.
Tickets are available free of charge from the NTN office in John Meinert Street from 7 June. The office is open Monday to Friday between 08:00 and 13:00 and again between 14:00 and 17:00.
Omiri is an original project to modernize Portuguese music. To rediscover tradition, there is nothing better than bringing the real faces of Portuguese culture to the show itself - musicians and soundscapes from all over Portugal playing and singing together. Not necessarily in person, but in sound and image - with video recordings manipulated to serve as the musical basis for Vasco Ribeiro Casais' compositions and improvisation.
Feel free to check out examples of Omri's music at this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AuVKLPFtJbs
This concert is financed by Camões, IP (the Portuguese Institute for Cooperation and Language), and has received sponsorships from Kubata City Hotel; Dunas Safari Tours; Isabel's Table; The Cork & Fork Restaurant; and The Hook.
Direct inquiries to [email protected] or 061 374 400.
