'Side by Side' exhibition a sweet art experience
Namafu Amutse and Candice Mouton's joint exhibition, Side by Side, is currently on display at the Sweet Side of Thingz cafe and bakery in Windhoek's city centre. This exhibition was shown for the first time in February this year and is back by popular demand for a second installation at another venue.
The two's paintings and photographs hung on the walls of this spacious cafe in the heart of the capital tell their stories in a new setting. This unique setting offers unique opportunities, and everyone is invited to an Art and Donut event on 15 April at 11:00.
Sweet Side of Thingz specializes in delicious doughnuts, and the team there will be creating one of these treats inspired by the exhibition. You can be one of the first to buy and enjoy this new sweetness at this event.

This exhibition is the first in the 2023 Side by Side exhibition series curated by StART Gallery. The central theme of the series is juxtaposition. Placing just two artists' works close to each other, creates space for dialogue and ultimately unique interpretations.
Namafu and Candice met while at school. They are both young, self-taught artists in the early stages of their creative careers.
While Namafu works primarily in the digital realm with photos and videos as mediums, Candice is a painter and illustrator. Despite using different mediums, the two artists share a similar motivation. In this exhibition, Namafu's photographs and Candice's paintings depict intimate moments related to childhood and memories.
